Construction Supervisor
The Opportunity
A State Government Department is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to join their team on a temporary basis. This role is responsible for the effective planning, supervision, and delivery of construction, maintenance, and upgrade projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
You will oversee office staff, field teams, and subcontractors while managing regional resources including plant, equipment, depots, and vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who brings strong construction knowledge, a proactive management style, and a commitment to quality service delivery.

About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
• Planning and delivering construction, maintenance, and upgrade projects through effective supervision of staff and subcontractors
• Managing regional resources, including plant, equipment, depots, and vehicles
• Monitoring project standards, quality, expenditure, and timelines using effective work order management systems
• Reporting project status, service quality, and performance to stakeholders
• Providing operational contract supervision on major and complex construction and engineering projects
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and industry best practice
• Building and maintaining positive client relationships through regular communication and negotiation
• Promoting workplace health and safety and maintaining a safe work environment
• Managing staff performance and conduct in line with human resource policies
• Identifying opportunities to promote services and support future business growth
About You
You are an experienced construction professional with strong leadership capabilities and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
You will bring:
• Demonstrated experience supervising construction and maintenance projects
• Strong knowledge of building construction and maintenance legislative and regulatory requirements
• Proven ability to manage staff, subcontractors, and multiple work programs
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong organisational and resource management capabilities
• Commitment to workplace health and safety and safe work practices
• Current Driver’s Licence (mandatory)
• Current White Card / WHS General Safety Induction Card (mandatory)
